Quiere Luismi un México mejor....go/vaya QUICKIE ENGLISH: For the first time in his carreer, LM talked about the situation in Mexico. Meeting with the 150 reporters from LatinAmerica, USA & Spain for his press conference for cd "33", the singer indicated that he would like that the country grew. "Like always, one hopes that the things that they love in your familiy, in your child, and in this case, my country that I adore, I hope that each time it is better. This is the hope, the desires that need to spread thru the people. I would like Mexico to rise, grow, but these difficult times that people live, and it saddens me. It's not right, people don't deserve this, and hopefully everyone will become more aware and things will change." The bad weather of this tourist city didn't darken the good humor of Luis Miguel in the press conference, after not having it in Mex since 8 years ago. In an half hour he responded to about 30 questions alluding to not only his personal state and profession that he lives, but also subjects like pirates (stealing music), coldness/indifference (cd themes) and Mexico. He spoke fondly of visiting his "beloved Chile again". He spoke about music piracy twice. In the beginning of the conference he talks about how damaging it is to the music industry and those that dedicate themselves to the creation of it, and how it's important for the people to be aware of the damage it does. "Music piratcy is a theft, affecting all music and the only ones that can cause a change are the fans, those that buy, it affects me, the companies, and many studios have had to close". When a reporter asked about how the majority of the songs seem to refer to love loss, he responds that it's just like the movies, it's easier to sing about problems, love failures, than the happy subjects, that's the only reason, but I'm happy and doing very well". Besides expressing that having the conference in Mex reflects his desire to be closer to the people of Mex, he also explained the title of his new de reflects a new stage in his life. "I wanted to put 23 (!), but they told me no one would believe it, everyone knows my age very well". He also indicated that age 33 is an important age for a man, where another stage of maturity begins perhaps, and where one needs to look at the personal future and profession another way. When asked if he would like to clear away the gray chapters of his life, he replied, "gray? They are black! But I've learned that it's the bad experiences that make you who you are and I can't change that." He talked about family and friends and sentimental relationships. Even though the cd has recieved some bad criticism, he says that it is a good thing when it's constructive. "It's a great cd and I'm proud of it.. a great cd to sing live, I've already tried it and it's very nice, he concluded".

Tiene Luismi nueva musa en su video....
VERY QUIKIE ENGLISH TRANSLATION:
Luis Miguel shines in his new video, and as he's done in past productions, includes a model, this time Cindy Taylor. Produced and filmed in a mansion close to LA in the first 2 weeks of Sept, "Te Necesito" was launched yesterday all over the world, showing the new image of "El Sol". 'No-gel' hair, white shirt and very relaxed., his image is alternated with that of Taylor, rubbing face & neck with ice cube/fanning herself/in tub to escape the heat. He's also shown singing with the 'soul' style chorus Take 6, snapping fingers and dancing rythmically, all the video is enclosed in flames (*which I is indicating the 'heat' of a hot day and that of desire). There's not a 'story' line so much in the video, it's kept simple with him being an attractive guy singing. At the end there are couples dancing up tempo as he sings to the camera.

This article is about how there was a rumor that something had come between Manzanero and LM. Mananero denies it and goes further to say that "the truth is that I never lose contact with Luis Miguel, I've never had any times when there were on the 'outs', they were at times away on different work related reasons, but they've always had a frank friendship. He talks about how, even though there could be last minute changes, there is planned to be 3 new songs of his and one rewrite of an old song: Un te amo", "Nos hizo falta tiempo", "Ahora que te vas" y "Qué tristeza"(*rewrite) . We have a very nice relation and see each other in Acapulco and Los Angeles, we sit at the piano and sing different things, play music, he may make suggestions about the theme or title. Manzanero, who has been a fundamental part of the Boleros productions, revealed that though 3 of the songs were new, 'Que Tristeza' has been around for 25 years. I sent 13 new songs to him, but he also has others that I've sent before that he's holding on to, and it's from those that he's had from before that he chose "Nos hizo falta tiempo and Ahora que te vas. "Que tristeza" has been done in several versions before, but he wanted to re-record it, and "Un te amo"(*notice this is really the name, afterall!) is very new, because (recently married) I wrote it for my wife and it says: "An/one I love you, from/for your lips". (the exact wording of this title will become more clear when the lyrics help explain it's usage. "All of his works are good and he has surprised us with the first single, I've read some critics that weren't very good, but I'm confident that all will be excellent....... " After presenting his most recent albums in other countries, he will present this one in Cancún Sept 29. After his confernece with press from around the world, he will have his exclusive interviews, amongst them with Joaquín López-Dóriga and Javier Alatorre.

Ubaldo Romero recalls the anecdotes he lived with Luis Miguel, during the 4 years of working together. Ubaldo had worked as a cameraman en Multivision, which led to the opportunity to work with LM. He tells of a night in Las Vegas, when after the concert, Luismi rented 2 salons for his staff of 120 people, where he ate and toasted with them for the success of his concert there. Ubaldo believes that working with LM changes your life.
Q: Would you work with him again?
A: Without a doubt. I worked in Multivision and when my boss gave me the proposal in 1992, I didn't think twice.
Q: Did you record his concerts?
A: Yes, LM is a very professional person, very dedicated, very married to his public,and always, always careful with every aspect of his show, and every recording serves as a tool to scrutinize the lights, audio, and other aspects.
Q: What was your first impression of him when you began working with him?
A: Impressive!, he's a person that commands your resect, and that I found curious was that something that bothers him, is if someone doesn't greet him or come around him...
Q: Can you explain that a little more?
A: For example, there was an engineer that worked with the equipment, that never spoke to LM, so LM asked who he was and was introduced to him because he likes to know all the people who works for him.
Q: Would you say that LM is generous?
A: Well, I don't know about others, but yes, I know that he pays his people well. I'll tell you something, his equipment team stayed and ate in the same hotel he did and ate the same. Close to the dressing rooms and stage there were 2 food wagons where there was always food available - fruit, water, pops, cheese, meat, all day long, for those who were working for him, whenever they wanted, without any lines, like a team, like a big family, in which no one had ot tell anyone what to do, because everyone knew their job well.
Q: Any grumbling?
A: No, on the contrary. In one ocassion after a concert at the Univ of TX, he sent a call to all of us and we thought something bad had occurred, but were surprised to see that he was congratulating us and say that we were the best workers he'd ever had.
Q: Is he special?
A: Like every singer of his importance, he imposes strict work rules: zero women in the rehearsals, except the chorus, and no family or friends. In an ocassion during a practice at the Univ Intercontinental in Tlalpan, I was accompanied by my son, and when LM saw him, he greeted him and asked who he was. My son responded that he was a cameraman, and it didn't call any attention to me.
Q: Why did you stop working for him?
A: Because he switched to an agency from the USA.
Q: Any resentments?
A: No, not at all.......blah, blah..
Q: Did you ever ask for an autograph?
A: No, never. I always had respect for him and his work and even though I would love to have had him sign my favorite album, 'Aries'.

I want to give you forwarning, because I don't know your work schedules or if you have a computer at home. LM's video is supposed to be out Monday Sept 15. So, you can try to watch or set your vcr: just in case that date for the video is inacurate, you need to keep watching every night so you don't miss it, because it should be anytime now. Primer Impacto usually premieres all the new videos, so:
