ENGLISH TRANSLATION:
On a night of the full moon, El Sol dazzled his followers. Backed by his past successes, his romances and ballads, LM conquered close to 7,000 fans last night, who met together to enjoy his voice and presence. Filled with energy and very pleased with his public over all, the star, who says he's celebrating his 33 years of life, instead went on to recap his 20 years of musical carreer with his old friends of El Paso. Adorned in a black suit that emphasized his recovered (huh?) figure LM burst thru the darkness and onto the stage at 8:48pm and seized the stage to intrepret VULEVE (Come Back). The furor and screams couldn't wait. "Amor, amor, amor" lit up and animated the public who enjoyed the concert thru 3 gigantic screens behind the singer.
Aluminated by 8 pillars of light and floating over a cloud of artificial mist, LM showed his most romantic side with "Nos Faltó el Tiempo", by Armando Manzanero, which was chorused by the crowd, in spite of the fact that it's not been released on the radio. Perfidia and Eres, followed in the repertoire of the artist that was accompanied by 2 chorus singers and 7 musicians, some who have accompanied him for more that a decade of his albums and tours. "Devuélveme el Amor", a balad from his new album, started off the romantic segment that included his hits, "Por debajo de la mesa", "No se tú", "Come duele", and "O tú o ninguna", themes that demonstrated his high quality intrepretation skills.
The euforia started anew with "Dame tu amor", "Sol arena y mar", and "Suave", songs that got everyone to their feet, even the older attendees. After the interpretation of "Un te amo", LM talked about his father, singer Luisito Rey, and his remembrance of how it was him that encouraged him to continue singing. "After more than 15 years of singing those songs, I've had a natural change in my voice. My father told me that I should keep singing because it would be something important for me.. today, I'm thankful because if I had not been with him, I wouldn't be here enjoying your applause", and he sang a popurrí including 'No me puedes dejar asi", a song that hit high in popularity in 1983 and "Palabra de honor", from 1984. In an unusual gestor(not really, it happens), he allowed a young one to pass the security and receive kisses on the cheek and hands. After singing his hits "Entregate" and "La Incondicional", novio of Myrka de Llanos, left the stage for an instant to change into gray pants and shirt and a black velvet jacket, that tore the screams from the concert attendees.
"Con tu besos", "Nos Hizo Falta Tiempo" and "Qué Tristeza", 3 from the new album, were the preamble for the most sung along with and applauded of the night which included themes "Mucho corazón", "La Media Vuelta", and "Amorcito Corazón", with which the singer manifested his Mexican pride.
Prepared to interact at the max with his admirers, LM jumped and danced on the speakers(?) on the sides of the stage and allowed that his fans touch his hand and offer him flowers.
Already in the climax of the night, the artist exploded the concert with "Cómo es posible", "Será que no me amas", "Te propongo" and "Ahora te puedes Marchar". As if the existing euforia up till then wasn't enough, the Mex naturalized artist that was born in Puerto Rico, didn't forget "La chica del bikini azul" and "Isabel", which he ended with.
But the public wanted more and after a few minutes of screams and applause, the singer reappeared on the stage to sing his first single "Te necesito" and prove with it that neither the critics of his work, nor his insistance to continue recording boleros and pop ballads can eclipse the sun that he carries inside.

LM returned to the stage Friday and the Mex singer presented his new spectacular show to more than 10,000 people at Mandalay Bay. The show lasted 1 hr and 40 min and he sang songs from his new album as well as old hits from his 21 year career. "El Sol", as called by his fans, appeared on the stage 9:15pm and was dressed in a black suit and tie to interpret the first song of the night "VUELVE", composed by Alejandro Asensi and Edgar Cortazar. It's fitting to note that in the first row one could find Myrka Dellanos, conductor on Primer Impacto, who attended the show as a special guest of the singer.
"It's a placer for me to be with you all tonight. I'm very happy to be here and at this time I'm going to interpret songs that you already know and that have been part of my life, of 33 years" said the artist to the public ovation. In his new show, Luis Miguel has 7 large screens, new musicians and 2 chorus singers. On the screens are projected diverse images such as stars, hearts, water and fire.
"Ahora Que Te Vas", "Eres", "Devuélveme el Amor", "Amorcito Corazón", "La Media Vuelta", "Por Debajo de la Mesa", "No Se Tú", "Dame tu Amor", "O Tú o Ninguna", "Isabel", "La Chica del Bikini Azul", "Ahora te Puedes Marchar", "La Incondicional", "Cuando Calienta el Sol" y "Palabra de Honor", were some of the songs sang last night. In every moment, Luis Miguel showed himself to be very happy on the stage and his fans never stopped giving giving a standing ovation most of the night. His followers sang along with him for most songs and as a recompense, LM returned twice to the stage after leaving it (*well, he always does that). With screams of "encore, encore!", they never gave up hope that the singer would come back out to appease his audience. With this spectaculor performance, the singer _officially_ began his new tour, that will go to Mexico in 2004. After Las Vega, he'll present in Fresno, Santa Barbara, and LA, amongst other USA cities.

Today in an interview Maria Celeste from Rojo Vivo asked LM about him fixing his gap in his teeth. He replied, "it's very simple, there was an accident on stage, where a fan rushed at me while I was singing and the microphone was knocked into my teeth, so when I had them fixed, it all happened at the same time." (me talking ->I can't grasp exactly, or maybe he doesn't say exactly, but I do catch the word uncomfortable, so he had them fixed because they felt uncomfortable. I do know that teeth can receive cracks in the enamel that don't show until the dentist light is on them, and then you can see the cracks. They can be painful because the enamel doesn't seal the inside part of the tooth.)

Please be aware that different countries have different standards for their platinum/gold achievements and I don't know which are applying here. Today, Wed, Escandola TV said that Argentina was double platino also.

UPDATE/ACT - 1:55PM Here is pictures of LM's arrival on, BUT, not to Cancun, they are talking about his arrival, but as some have noticed and on close inspection, it's true, his hair is the wrong length, and when reading the words on the picture, I see it says that he arrived in a rented jet, not his own personal jet. So although they show these pics while talking about his arrival, they are video from their archive of a past event. It is hard to keep all this info straight when you are scanning alot of info at 60x speed, sorry for the confusion. (But, wow! he is so cute in them, I'm glad to see them anyway!) Thanks go to Michele for alerting me. Also these are pics of the Hotel Ritz Carlton where the press conference took place and where he occupied the presidential suite. ESPAÑOL: Estes son fotos de una llegada de LM en su jet privado en algo lugar diferente - porque su pello es corta. Y mira las palabras en la foto dice que LM llega en un jet rentado, no suyo. ALL the talk shows and news programs are having clips, remember that a talk show will show a little clip then go onto something else, then show a little clip again,etc. So, once you see something, don't think it's over and turn off the tv, they keep adding little clips thru the show, especially true of the morning type shows that last a long time.
I also saw where there will be 3 shows with clips on him on UNIVISION, maybe the whole show. Pay close attention to the day, I don't want anyone to misunderstand when these shows come on because it is midnight, which makes it the night of one day, but technically the am of the next day. Be sure to check your own tv guide, or you might miss it!:

Ventaneando: They said that he was supposed to have a press conference on the beach, but because a tropical storm came up it had to be moved inside the beautiful Ritz Carlton hotel of the Cancun beach area.

Meeting with the 150 reporters from LatinAmerica, USA & Spain for his press conference for cd "33", the singer indicated that he would like that the country grew. "Like always, one hopes that the things that they love in your familiy, in your child, and in this case, my country that I adore, I hope that each time it is better. This is the hope, the desires that need to spread thru the people. I would like Mexico to rise, grow, but these difficult times that people live, and it saddens me. It's not right, people don't deserve this, and hopefully everyone will become more aware and things will change." The bad weather of this tourist city didn't darken the good humor of Luis Miguel in the press conference, after not having it in Mex since 8 years ago. In an half hour he responded to about 30 questions alluding to not only his personal state and profession that he lives, but also subjects like pirates (stealing music), coldness/indifference (cd themes) and Mexico. He spoke fondly of visiting his "beloved Chile again". He spoke about music piracy twice. In the beginning of the conference he talks about how damaging it is to the music industry and those that dedicate themselves to the creation of it, and how it's important for the people to be aware of the damage it does. "Music piratcy is a theft, affecting all music and the only ones that can cause a change are the fans, those that buy, it affects me, the companies, and many studios have had to close". When a reporter asked about how the majority of the songs seem to refer to love loss, he responds that it's just like the movies, it's easier to sing about problems, love failures, than the happy subjects, that's the only reason, but I'm happy and doing very well". Besides expressing that having the conference in Mex reflects his desire to be closer to the people of Mex, he also explained the title of his new de reflects a new stage in his life. "I wanted to put 23 (!), but they told me no one would believe it, everyone knows my age very well". He also indicated that age 33 is an important age for a man, where another stage of maturity begins perhaps, and where one needs to look at the personal future and profession another way.
